The LittlestThings

So, Brooke found her feet today. The two of us were just sitting on our usual spot on the couch (me making my ridiculous faces/noises...her staring at me confused, scared or amused...I'm not sure) and the next thing I know she is staring directly at her feet-memorized by these new toys! She pushed them into one another, wiggled her toes around and smiled-quite pleased with her 'find.' I kind of wanted to get in on this fun and decided to tickle her tootsies-nothing-so I started kissing on those cuties and what does Brooke do but kick me and pull her foot away as if to say, "excuse me, but who do YOU think YOU are..back off sister..." I was not invited to this playdate..Oh well...things could be worse-those same feet could have been webbed.....

New Website...New Location

So, as you obviously notice, we have moved our website. The other was not as easy to work with and I am trying to keep this going so I needed an easier format :) You do have to be emailed, though, if you want to be able to read the blog (similar to the 'password' concept on our previous webpage) so if there is someone that I forgot-let me know.
I don't have too much time on my hands do I???So, read all about our "exciting" lives, comment and enjoy a nice break from work/school/and play :)

Brooke's 4 Month Doctors Appointment

Brooke had a well baby doctors appointment today and she did Great! She did have to get three shots (the same ones as last time-boosters) and one oral vac. She did pretty well-not as good as last time (more crying...soooo sad...), but I still consider her a trooper. This time, though, I knew to give her some baby Tylenol before she got the shots, instead of waiting until the pain really kicked in. Aunt Amy & Grandma J give great advice :) We are now at home resting peacefully thank goodness.

She weighed in at 15 pds 2 oz which is in the 90%. She is 24.5 in which is the 75%. I didn't really think she was that chubby!! The way the DR put it was that she is "compact." I guess that means I am "compact" too...! He does want to start Brooke on rice cereal-from the spoon, not mixed with the bottle, so we will begin this "step" tonight. I am interested to see her reaction to this-pictures to follow for sure!

I am not going to lie, though, was a little embarrassed at two points
-so the doctor is doing the basic check up and he takes off Brooke's diaper. He then lets me know, "well, she is just going to be a very rashy baby her whole life." My thoughts...rash? What rash?? Apparently, Brooke has a diaper rash which both of her parents were oblivious to-I guess it can't be that bad of a rash then right?!?! Don't worry-I covered quickly letting him know that I had just noticed that this morning and was putting cream on...that is, I will be putting cream on as soon as you leave the room. She was on her "A" game though when it came to demonstarting her 'Tummy Time' and head lifting skills.
-I then had embarrassing moment two when I expressed my concern to the DR that she hates being on her tummy and has not "really" rolled over yet...will she ever crawl, walk?? He let me know that, "yes, all children will walk...not all crawl-some roll, but everyone walks..." I hope I am not the only crazy new mom out there that asks these questions!! I will let everyone know how the cereal goes...we don't go back to the DR until April when Brooke will be 6 months old!! Crazy :)

Slept all by herself!!!

HUGE NEWS in the Fleming household...Miss Brooke slept the entire night in her bed last night. OK, I am exaggerating because she didn't "sleep" through the night, but she didn't need to come into our bed to sleep. SO, to us-this is a BIG deal! We are so proud :) Maybe this means that she will want to sleep in her own room by the time she is five or so!!! Just kidding....we hope. Anyways, just thought that I would drop a quick 'exciting' update while watching the Oscars-as I'm sure you all are as well! We have our next DR appointment tomorrow-more shots :(-but we will get a weight/height update and may hear that it is time to go to cereal!! Could be a big day :) Will write more soon!

Update-It's been awhile!!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

Well, it has been awhile since we have posted an update letting everyone know how miss Brooke is doing and what she has been up to, so we thought we would give it a go. Last night she slept through the night!!! She did not even wake up for a feeding which is HUGE! Now, if she could just do this on her own in her crib that would be great-but that is a whole other story :)

We are still working on rolling over...on our own. If I give her some "support" she is totally able to do it..Gary says that this is unfair, though and doesn't count. She is also sitting up unassisted more and more. She LOVES her bumbo and I sat her up on the couch yesterday and she just smiled and smiled. We purchased a bouncer that she isn't so much 'bouncing' in yet, but she is standing up all of the time and loving it!! She no longer likes to lie down and not be in viewing site of the TV...!! She has also been able to push herself up more on her arms/elbows so we will see when she will start moving around! The laughing and giggling is happening more and more. It happened for the first time last Sunday and then yesterday when her cousin Jack and her dog Bella were playing with each other. It is too precious and we cannot wait for you all to hear/see it!!! We are just trying to keep up with our cousin Lily who is a laughing fool and has already rolled over numerous times...its all about keeping up with the Kallers :)

Brooke's next DR's appointment is February 25th and she will get a few more shots. We will also get to see, though, how much she weighs and her length. I am really looking forward to this appointment and cannot wait to share with you all!

Hope everything has a GREAT Valentines Day!!

Superbowl 2008

Gary, Brooke and I headed over the the Kaller house for Superbowl Sunday! Good times were had by all-even though I did more talking then watching the game...not too interested as I was not even aware of who was playing against the Giants...
The girls enjoyed their Bumbos-it was Lily's first experience, and Jack enjoyed them as well. (big man in a small chair). Jack also enjoyed hanging out with Uncle Gary-see below! Hopefully we behaved ourselves enough that they will invite us back next year....
