Happy Birthday Gary!

Today is Gary's 27th Birthday! He is still 9 months younger then me, but I like it when we are closer in age-if only for 3 more months :) What can I say-I go after the younger men. In honor of his birthday, I think that I will only have him work on painting the kitchen today on his day off-I will not bug him about finishing the bathroom, mowing the lawn or doing touch up pain in the front room. I am that great of a wife :)

Happy Birthday Gary!!!

Memorial Weekend

Memorial weekend was spent at Innsbrooke. We got to spend all Friday evening with Brooke's Grandma & Grandpa Johnson and Saturday was spent with all of the Johnson family. We had lots of fun and got lots of sun :) We are all looking forward to heading back (and soon) to get to use the pool, basketball courts (dad), tennis courts (dad again) and the sandy beach area (mom).

We headed back home on Sunday which ended up being a good thing since both Sunday & Monday were filled with rain. We decided we had to get out of the house on Monday, though, and headed to the Magic House with Aunt Maggie. This was Brooke's 2nd time going to the Magic House and I think that she had a WAY better time. She was much more outgoing and wanted to try almost everything. My only complaint is to the parents that allow their 7 + year old children play in the under 24 months play zone. What is the sign there for people?? Give the little ones a small area without the big kids toppling over them! Brooke is just trying to crawl on the toys and she has a 7 year old girl tapping her foot in frustration-seriously?? Do you really think that the multi-colored tunnel was that fun for her?? Some things I just don't understand...

Slides-by far- are Brooke current favorite.

In Cinderella's carriage.

The day ended with ice cream where I truly feel that we were overcharged. I mean, I ordered Brooke the kids cone which cost $0.49. Maggie and I received the exact same cones (size, flavor, etc) and were charged over $3.00!! What, may I ask, made the price jump $2.50?? The word small vs. kiddie?? I will be picking up my soft serve from my local McDonalds from here forth were everyone receives the $0.99 cone no matter your age.

In other news, we broke the 200 day mark with the new baby on the way and the countdown continues! According to my weekly emails (yes I receive them) the baby should be around the size of a lime or 2 inches long. I will know more in the coming weeks as I have another u/s coming up the first week of June-can't wait. Not too long now until we know if Brooke is going to have a little bro or a little sis! Speaking of which...I attempted to tell Brooke over the weekend that mom had a little baby in her tummy. Brooke currently LOVES babies and LOVES telling/showing us her tummy (and then wanting to see everyone else's). What better timing I thought-WRONG. She was either completely disturbed or highly confused because she pulled my shirt right down and screamed NOOOO....could this be a bad sign???

Popsicles & Sunshine

That title seems kinda lame-but I am not going to change it. I had all three kids yesterday while my sister was at work. I am not ready to have three kids yet in a very small age range. I think that overall, though, they had a good time together. We spent a lot of time outside (mom needs to get just a little bit of sun on her face...especially after taking pictures with my friends at the Cardinals game last weekend!). I did realize that I need to get a few more outside activities-apparently a slide, a ball, and bubbles just aren't going to cut it for the summer-Craigs List-here we come!Enjoying their Crystal Light popsicles...I wasn't too found of them but apparently kids don't care if they are almost all water and no sugar :)

Best Friends! Until Lily slams your head between the door and the wall....

Lily ate her popsicle upside down for around 10 minutes-I guess she does not feel cold-or maybe she is just trying to show off how tough she is...

Aunt Kelly is the BEST! (I know that this is what he was thinking right at this very moment..)

Bachelorette Party Weekend

We had a pretty busy weekend which is fairly unusual for us! My friend Lindsey was in town from OK to celebrate her bachelorette party. We went to a Cardinals game and had a BLAST! It was so much fun to get together with everyone again!! Sunday I brought Brooke over to Marci and Sean's to see the girls. Lindsey has seen millions of pictures of Brooke, but had not met her in person yet. Brooke was so nervous to meet her for the first time...:) Luckily, the introductions went great.

As you can see, it only took a little while for Brooke to get comfortable at Marci & Sean's house. After she was given a few pretzels and offered a seat on the couch, she was right at home.

Brooke & Aunt Marci-has to wear the sun glasses at all time-even in doors

Lindsey likes to wear hers inside too-so excited to meet her Aunt Linz in person!!

Big Girl

Brooke was a big girl last night. Drum roll please...she used the big girl potty!! Don't get too excited, though, I don't think that she has a clue that she actually did something of importance. See, I have started to 'encourage' the use of the potty in the morning and in the evening around bathtime. The water seems to make her want to 'go' as my bathroom floor has been used as her own personal potty many, many times. Every evening we sit on the potty as the tub fills up and we chat. Last night was no different except Brooke was PISSED at me. See, I am an evil mom and I will not let her take baby dolls that have batteries in them (makes them cry, talk, etc) in the bath with her. I know-cruel. So, as miss thang was sitting on the potty, she was also throwing a temper tantrum that baby was not taking a bath. I asked if she was finished on the potty and I assumed that she was becuase she jumped right on up. There it was in all it's glory and I was SO EXCITED!! She-on the other hand-could have cared less. Unless this potty business was going to get baby in the tub-who cares! So, unfortuently, I don't think that she has quite got the hang of it yet, but we will keep on trying!!

Additional update: Brooke had her 18 month check up last week and she is officially teeny tiny. I knew that she was small (see a few post back when she had her friend over) but it has now been confirmed. She is 30 inches tall and 22.75 pounds. She rounds out in the 25% overall (why do they even do these % things??). Small girl-Big Personality :)

Mothers Day

What better day then today to let everyone know (even though most of you already do) that Brooke is going to be a big sister!! We are so very excited and I am sure that Brooke-eventually- will be too. She already loves to feed her baby dolls in the morning and push them around the house in the stroller. She also likes to pretend to give herself shorts in her tummy just like mom (I have to take them when prego)-kinda creepy right?? So, the countdown begins to Christmas time...doesn't that seem SO far away?? December 10th is my due date, but I am hoping that my favorite doctor in the world will let me go a week early like he did last time around. We are going to find out the gender...all that know me well know that I am no good at surprises...and will keep you all informed. Until then, you can watch the baby tracker to keep up to date-exciting huh?? Next DR appointment is June so until then...no news is good news :)

For all of you mom's out there-Happy Mothers Day!!

Just Relax...

This past weekend was spent at Innsbrooke and we had a great time with Aunt Maggie, Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Joe and the Kaller kids. This was our first overnight stay and we hope that we are invited back...although that is questionable following Brooke's wake up call every 1.5 hours. I am not sure if it was the teeth that she has coming in, the tail end of her ear infection or just being in a new place, but I don't think that Maggie or my parents were too fond of her wails at 3 a.m....oh well-still cute.

'Testing the waters' with Aunt Maggie for the first time.
Luckily we have a beach right next to our property that we are more then happy to take advantage of.

This was the closest that we got to riding a horse-it was great all the same. Brooke was all smiles until Lilly gave her the boot.

Thanks to Grandma & Grandpa J for hosting a great weekend and we cannot wait to head back again!!!

In other news, we had our check up today and Brooke is still doing great! She is a little on the short and small side (ok-25th percentile) but we think that she is perfect :)
