Home Opener!

No, we didn't go to the home opener, we didn't even have tickets-however, we did have the 'perfect' outfit for the event and wore our Cardinals best all day long! We have been waiting and waiting for the perfect time to wear the hat that was given to us from Aunt Lisa & Uncle Brian and today was the day! Lets just say we got MORE then a few compliment on it throughout the day :) I have been working on teaching her the Jose O. song all day long...so far, no good, but I will keep working on it!!

Shit happens...

So, the other day I needed to run up to Crate & Barrel as well as Target. This was going to be a quick in-and-out trip and I knew that I would be home in 45 minutes. I fed Brooke her bottle, changed her diaper and we were out the door. I decided not to bring her diaper bag with me because she was clean, full and we were only going to be gone a little bit....HUGE MISTAKE! As we are driving to C&B, I hear a little 'activity' coming from my back seat..she was working on something! We get to C&B and I decide that Target is out, we will just get what we need here and head home. Apparently the C&B doesn't work around the Fleming hours and they were not open for another 10 minutes...ahhh!!! So, I bring Brooke across the street to a Coffee shop to wait out the time. I begin to notice that things are not smelling like roses. I decide to take her into the restroom to survey the damage....low and behold...there was an EXPLOSION! I am talking up the back, down the legs...serious damage. Of course right..the one time in my life I don't have the diaper bag. As Brooke is smiling and laughing at me, I have to re-strap on this nastiness and hightail it out of the coffee shop-didn't even bring my caffeine with me! I run over to Target and buy the first diapers I see on the shelf along with the travel wipes. I immediately check out and head to the bathroom. Of course the only changing table available was the one that is right next to the sinks in wide view for everyone to see. I mean talk about bad placement. The poor women that came in after me had to wash their hands next to my daughters poop blow out! I looked like the total slacker mom that doesn't even have the brain to have her own diapers, etc with her-no mother of the year award here!! We got all cleaned up and headed out the door-still went to Crate & Barrel because hey, we already made the trip right? We did receive many compliments, though, on her cuteness so that ended the 'event' on a positive note :) Needless to say, live and learn and NEVER leave the house without the diaper bag again...!!

In other news, Brooke had a GREAT first Easter and looked just too precious in her Easter Dress. We were able to spend the day with both sets up Grandparents and her Aunts, Uncles and cousins-great times were had by all :)

Our cousin David :)

I have to make a 'shout out' post to my cousin Trisha and her son David...one of Brooke's very close friends! Every Tuesday, Brooke is lucky enough to be able to spend the day with Trisha and David and she has a BLAST!! We just hope that she doesn't drive them both insane.....
Yesterday, David showed Brooke the 'in's & out's ' of the exsersaucer (sp??) and I think that she learned a lot! I also think that David had something to do with Brooke's rolling over since he is a rolling over champion...he has now mastered the walk though :) So, THANK YOU to David and Trisha for being two of Brooke's very BEST friends :) :)

"WHOA...so that's how it's done"

"David-you are totally amazing...wait until I tell Lily about this"

"Thanks David-your totally the best"

She Mobile!!!!

HUGE NEWS!!! When I got home from work today..the greatest thing happened!! Brooke rolled over! AND...for those of you wondering...it was TOTALLY unassisted! We were on the ground trying to partake in some 'tummy time' when she-out of no where-pushed herself up on her left knee and flipped! She had the BIGGEST grin on her face and I am only disappointed that I missed that photo op. I yelled for Gary to come in the room, but she would not roll over again-only one per night I guess! It was so neat, though, because when I was trying to get her to flip over for dad (and he was busy videotaping...weird..!) she pushed herself up on not one..but both knees! I swear that there was a little crawl that happened :) I think that the 'books' call it scooting, but the Fleming Family calls it crawling!

This is the best photo I was able to get of this 'milestone' in Brooke's life-we are so EXCITED! She will be walking by Easter for sure...and we thought she wouldn't be able to partake in the Easter Egg hunt....

AND, in other amazing news...she is getting GREAT at eating her solid foods. She has discovered carrots and she is not going back :) Hopefully her love for these veggies will lead to good eyesight and she will skip over the terrible vision that her parents have..but then she wouldn't get to have cute toddler glasses and aunt katie she she would be disappointed right??!!

Happy St. Patricks Day!!!

Happy St. Patricks Day to all!!

Well, Brooke's first St. Patricks day started out on a sad note-we were planning on going to the parade today and it was too cold and rainy to venture outside. We were all dressed up in our best green, but alas, it was not meant to be. We were planning on going to the parade with Aunt Amy & Uncle Joe, Jack and Lily as well as Godmother Tracie. So, instead, they all came over to our house to share Mexican 7 layer dip (on St. Paddy's day?? why not!) and sing old Irish songs. Well, not so much on the songs, but we did was Dora, Dora Dora....you know the rest :)

After the saddness of no parade wore off we were able to get some good pictures of the kiddos. Lily & Brooke were matching and we seriously did not plan it! Good taste ladies :)

Not quite there yet

We haven't been on in awhile because Brooke is still under the weather. She is slowly improving, but she has been one sick chick! I honestly think that she is teething at the same time which is zero help. She had to miss her first birthday party invitation too and we were so bummed :( Hopefully, though, after this week she will be back to her smiley self!

She is trying more solid foods, though, and I am tricking her into thinking that Green Beans are candy...she doesn't seem to agree.

We will see if peas are more her style next week :)

She also got a very cool t-shirt from her Dad from his trip to Beaver Creek, CO...although, "Future Ski Bunny" may not totally be appropriate!!

In other "Fleming" news, Gary and I are in the process of finishing off the basement. We decided that if we are going to be in this house for awhile, we are going to need some more room...and more importantly, a second bathroom. Also, Maggie has been requesting a bed room here for awhile now and I am trying to fulfill her request! We are hoping to have everything finished off my the beginning of this summer-fingers are crossed! We will finally have room for overnight guest-any takers let us know!!!

This ones for Tracie!

Don't get your hopes up.... :)

Always something going on....

So, our life continues to stay busy. Gary made it back in town-even though where we live received around 13 inches of snow-absolutely INSANE since we just enjoyed a 78 degree day on Sunday. We are really hoping that this is the last snow of the season as I don't think that I can take much more and I am beginning to think that Brooke doesn't believe anything exist outside our house and her Grandparents'!

Brooke had to go to the doctors today-she has been coughing something awful and the poor thing has officially lost her voice for the first time. However, all is good and it is 'just a cold.' Which-in short-means, there is nothing that we can do for her except wait it out...Hopefully she will start feeling better before this weekend because she has her first birthday party invite and we are PUMPED for it!! The same cannot be said for her cousin's Lily & Jack who are both under the weather-we are hoping that they both feel better soon so we can play with them again!!

An All Girls Weekend :)

Gary went skiing this weekend...Doesn't he look so 'pro' in his gear? It was an all gals week at the Fleming house! Maggie was nice enough to keep me company while Gary is 'hitting the slopes' and stayed with Brooke, Bella and myself. I don't know how much she liked being awakened at 7 a.m. to help me out-but she was a great sport and a HUGE, HUGE help to me-Thanks Muggie :) Brooke also gets props this weekend for being such a Great Guest at not one-but two bridal showers!! I was so proud!! After my brother Matthew's fiance' Lindsay's shower on Sunday, Maggie, Brooke and I went to 6:00 mass at Incarnate. Brooke was great through the entire service up until communion. I walked her down the aisle with me and about half way to the alter, I realize I now have a very, very warm spot on my zip up hoodie (good thing is was borrowed from my mom!). Brooke had in fact decided to pee right then and there on me-so embarrassing!! I had to hold her in that position until we left so that no one knew I had urine all over me :) We decided to head home after this~She always goes out with a bang!!
