Even more excited that Ariel has arrive to Trick - or - Treat!

Poor Caroline

This weeks post have pretty much been Brooke centered. Well folks, it is time for a Caroline update.

She has had a pretty rough week.

First, while tagging along to Brooke's three year check up, she ended up getting her booster flu shot. The poor girl didn't even see it coming-innocent bystander. Luckily, though, she rocked it-watching her big sister cry crocodile tears she only gave us a smile. She is one tough girl.

Then came Tuesday. As we waiting for Brooke during her dance class, Caroline started acting rather clingy. This is very un-Caroline like. She is not a snuggler. She started feeling pretty warm too. I thought this may have been a reaction to her booster shot and just enjoyed the cuddling that I never get with C.

By the next day, though, I began thinking that this was not flu shot related. Last night, when her fever spiked to 104.2...to the Hospital we went. After talking to the doctor, he thought it best to get her checked out. After a couple of hours (with Grandma by our side!) we left informed that it was most likely a virus. Motrin / Tylenol / fluids and rest.

When I left for work this a.m., she was still trying to drink her bottle while snuggling on the couch with dad. When I said bye to her, she pulled her blanket over her head to play peek-a-boo (one of her favorites). After a few times, she smiled at me and went back to relaxing with dad.

I think that she is on the mend.

Three Year Stats

Brooke had her doctors appointment this week. First time there in a year!! It is funny because you get so used to being there every three months or less with a little one. It is amazing how much they change when you only go every year!

It terms of motor skills, she is right on target and in some cases (mostly verbal skills) advanced for her age. She weighs 30 lbs even (25%) and is 35 inches tall (10%). The doctor thinks that she will be my height...or maybe a bit shorter. You can never know for sure :)

She is still a bit flat footed and tends to pronate, but that usually works itself out by age six. Good thing we have family that knows shoes! It is so important to outfit your kids in good shoes......

All in all...get ready for it...she is perfect.
Did you expect anything else??

The Night Before...

Someone was SUPER excited for their party....couldn't get her to sleep for hours....

And it is still a mystery as to where she learned..."wanna shake your tails guys??"

P90X Week 4

This update will be short and sweet.

I am still working the P90-this weekend was a little busy and I had to skip two days :(
Tony is not going to be happy with me.

I think that I got quite the cardio work out getting our house ready for Brooke's b-day bash...so maybe that counts?? Maybe not.

I am going to be picking up where I left off tomorrow.

Weight loss update will come on Tuesday....

28 days down

If you don't have anythign nice to say....

Question.

Why is it when your pregnant people LOVE to tell you how HUGE you are?
You know...the standard, "are you having twins??" "when are you due...??"

I mean, who thinks that any of these things are appropriate questions/statements to say to a pregnant gal??

I am not pregnant.

However, the same thing can be said for commenting about ones child.

Why is it that people feel compelled to tell me how HUGE Caroline is??

I mean...sure, she is larger then her sister was at this age BUT she is proportional for her height/weight/etc. Brooke always came in at the 50% across the board. Caroline consistently comes in in the 95% in both her height and her weight. SO-what is the big deal??? If she was in the 20% for height and the 95% for weight, that may be an issue...but she is not. Lucky girl will probably get to be taller then 5'3 like her mom and sister will be stuck at!! I would kill for an extra 3 inches!!

It wouldn't bother me that much but it happens all of the time. Everywhere we go. People love to tell me how beautiful she is...and those eyes!!...but only after they demonstrate their shock that she isn't over 1 years old yet. I don't get it. I certainly don't freak out when someone elses 10 month old isn't as big as Caroline.

This really started to get to me lately because Brooke is totally picking up on it. Just the other day, Brooke proclaimed that Caroline had a "BIG Booty." She, on the other hand, has a "small booty." When I informed her that Caroline was still my baby and she had a cute little booty...she corrected me by saying, "No mom, I have a cute little booty...Caroline has a cute BIG booty."

Poor Caroline.

I, personally, think that Caroline is the perfect size....95% and all...don't you think :)

One Happy Day

It has been awhile (9 days to be exact) since I updated on the kids. The aunt's in Ohio (and fans worldwide) need some picture updating!! I will not make you wait any longer...

My darling and always happy child, Brooke.
Sometimes life is not fair when you can't ride in your baby sister's
swing.

And then there are some children who are just constantly happy...

They cannot help it-to them, life is fabulous...

And...eventually, their pure happiness rubs off on everyone around them.

How can it not??!!

Happy Wednesday.

Road Trip

This past weekend, Gary and I hit the road headed to Memphis Tennessee.

Random right??

Well, Gary had a 'gig' in Jackson, TN so we thought we would extended the trip to Sunday for a parental get-away.

This was only done with the HUGE help of Grandma Mary Anne and Pawpaw Tom - so a massive THANK YOU to them - :)

After Gary was finished 'working' on Friday night, we got up in the a.m. and headed to Memphis. Gary was able to walk down memory lane remembering fun filled evenings spent on Beale Street while in college. I was able to see the sights and laugh at these stories Gary filled me in on.

Even though the sights only consisted of the actual street and the Peabody Hotel, it was still fun. I decided that I knew why Gary really wanted to stop in Memphis when he casually mentioned that there was a Gibson guitar store/manufacturer right off Beale! What luck!! There were even tours available every hour!!

He decided he would spare me the spare me the unbelievable excitement that is "How to make a Gibson Guitar" and save it for next time. So, in thanks, I bought him the $13,000 guitar that was for sale. :)

Next stop...Tunica, MS.

Oh, yes.

The land of elderly gamblers was calling to Gary us so off we went. The hotel that we stand in was very nice and the slot machines were aplenty. We were able to have a nice dinner and gamble enough to break even.

All was great until I met a Nebraska fan who informed me that he hated Mizzou. What?? Why so serious...I mean, we're in Tunica! When I informed him that we totally beat Nebraska when I went to school there and took down the goal post...I couldn't even get a smile. He repeated, "I HATE Mizzou." That was enough for me...on to the next roulette table-things may get rowdy!

I tried to get Gary to take lots of pictures during our trip. You know, the fabulous kind where he takes a solo shot of me, then I take one of him and then we ask a random stranger to take one of both of us (all the while hoping they don't steal out camera). He was not game, though. So, from the looks of this post, it appears that Gary had a spectacular time! I swear I did too.

We were glad to be back, and I am sure Mary Anne and Tom were happy to see us too. The girls?? They may be indifferent :)

P90 X-Week 3

Week Three's update will be short and sweet.

I kept up with the program until Friday when we had to head out of town. That means, I have had the pleasure of making up that day this week and going straight into week 4. That also means no down day this week : (

I have noticed that my clothes are fitting a bit better so I hope that is a good sign!

21 days down
69 days to go

Weight loss to date: unknown. I didn't weigh in this Sunday as I usually do since we just got back from our trip. After un-packing, starting laundry and just being exhausted...it didn't happen. So let the suspense kill you until next Sunday.

Nightmares

Anyone else going through this??

Lately Brooke seems to be getting nightmares...and on a nightly basis.

We finally got Caroline sleeping through the night and now Brooke is up night after night....running into our room in hysterics. It can range from a lion outside the window to a monster anywhere in her room. We have re-assured, showed her that no one or thing is anywhere in her room and that she is totally safe. Sometimes this works. Other times-no dice. The only thing she wants to do is lay with mom & dad until she feels better. I am totally ok with the occasional snuggle session in bed, but every night?? Suggestions are welcome :) How long do these night terrors last??!!

Lily is THREE

Even though I cannot believe it, Lily turned three on Friday. I still feel like Amy just called us to let us know
Ms. Lils was arriving three weeks early!

We kicked off the celebration at Amy & Joe's with a birthday bash that included a visit from Ariel herself :)

This may have been the best birthday gift her parents could have given her. Even the dads (and grandpas) were excited to see Ariel :)

All of the kids were enthralled with Princess Ariel. She read stories, played games and even sang a song. If I even had a quasi good voice, I think that this would be my dream job. You have adoring fans everywhere you go!

 Fans of all ages :)

Happy Birthday Lily!!!
