Someone needs a hair cut...
So, it has been awhile huh? I think that I was still quasi recovering from our whirlwind weekend with the three kids only to be followed by a very busy week at home. Gary played all through the weekend - Thursday at Harpo's and Friday at Fi15teen. He is playing all this weekend as well - Wednesday at Bar Napoli, Friday at F15teen and back to Bar Napoli on Friday...so if anyone is looking for some live music entertainment...!!! So, we will not have any big 4th of July plans, but I don't think that Brooke would be able to fully appreciate it this years anyways :) Gary and I do have some 'big' plans this week, though, as we are going to the John Mayer concert on Thursday to celebrate Gary's Birthday-better late then never. I am really just hoping that he gets his hair cut before out big date...

Ok, so Gary didn't really want for me to post these at first, but he finally gave in after we both couldn't stop laughing about how hysterically funny he looks. When I was pregnant with Brooke, I sooo wanted her to have Gary's thick, dark brown hair-after seeing the afro that it can become when not cut regularly, maybe I should be glad that she got mine! Oh, and why do you ask is he giving the "we're #1" in the second picture?? Not a clue...but both of their eyes are closed and they look pretty funny so it gets posted...!! So, if those pictures didn't just make your day and have you laugh out loud, I don't know what else will :)

Kaller Kids - Round 2
Well, here we are at Day 2 of the first ever Kaller-Fleming cousin weekend. I cannot complain too much :) Lily squealed and squealed and squealed some more...how do Amy and Joe still have good hearing?? Jack only had one meltdown-he didn't want to eat lunch, I wanted him to eat lunch (come on..it was mack and cheese..!), he wanted to watch Shrek...you know the story! Eventually we kissed and made up and all was well in our world once again!
I totally forgot to mention in my last post (Kaller Kids-Round 1) that Jack is a pee machine! I should not have taken Amy's advice ('hey Kelly-if your going to let Jack go outside in the sprinkler, don't put his diaper on b/c he is just going to get all wet anyways, and his diaper gets huge!') Well, I got Jack ready last-right before we walked out the deck door-and what did the kid do? He stops at the open door and pees all over the floor! I didn't see it at first and totally slipped in it-so disgusting. I got that mess all cleaned up and we played outside. As soon as the fun was over, we came back inside and I told Gary to get Jack undressed and re-diapered first. Well, Jack took off into the other room and peed all over the throw rug (at least it is where Bella pees too-maybe he was marking his territory??). I could have taken all of this, but the next morning (Sunday) Jack get's up and as I am making his bed, I discover that he has peed the bed! Off with the sheets to be washed. Oh-and did I mention I didn't have a mattress cover on the bed as it is brand new?? My mom suggested laying down towels on Sunday night so he wouldn't go through his diaper, the towels, the sheets, etc. She must not know the bladder power of Jack Kaller. I changed his diaper right before bed and still-he peed all the way through his diaper, pj pants, TWO TOWELS and the sheets....SERIOUSLY!!! I have never seen so much peeing in my life!!!!
Anyways...back to day 2....
Although the day started out a bit on the rainy side, it brightened up and Tracie, the kids and myself headed down to a local park to let the kids play and burn some energy at the same time. They had a GREAT time! Lily couldn't stop laughing while on the swings-when is she not having a FABULOUS time though?? Brooke just kept smiling and making noises as she went back and forth, up and down on the swing-too cute! Jack loved it all-the swings, the slides, the steering wheel and even digging in the rocks...what a day! Needless to say, they were all EXHAUSTED when we got home. Lily had missed a nap and was literally sitting up and swaying like a drunken college student until she finally face planted (once again, drunken college student) and fell asleep. I couldn't help but laugh out loud! Below are a few more things that made me laugh...
Jack is ready for the park-doesn't he look like Grandpa Tom with his tall socks, jersey shorts with the tucked in shirt?? Who LOVES it!!

Kaller Kids-Round 1
Day 1 of 2 has come and gone and things so far has turned out pretty well :) The Kaller kiddos slept through the night last night, Brooke was up many times of course. I don't know what is better/worse-having a child sleep through the night and get up at 6:00 a.m. or having a child wake up throughout the night but sleep in until 8:30. Here is what I do know, having to do both scenarios at night is no fun at all :( Luckily, though, my sister Tracie was there to help-which was a HUGE relief since Gary was working all night. All in all everything was great and now we have DAY 2 to look forward to :) Here are some pictures of the kiddos having a great time outside in the pool/sprinkler.

Out of all three, Lily has the MOST fun in the water. Jack and Brooke get a little intimidated and run away-not Lily! She literally goes in head first!

New Discovery: Jack Kaller loves corn on the cob and spicy food! Last night we had blackened chicken, Mexican rice and corn on the cob with a little garlic and pepper. I tried to get all of the skin off for Jack (on his chicken) and I let him try out the rice and corn and he LOVED them ALL! He was having a BLAST and cleaned his plate! I think that he has Joe's (his dad's) taste buds!

Lately!!!
Each and every day Brooke is becoming more and more hysterical! She has the seriousness and intensity of my personality (which I don't know if that is a good thing or not..!) but the humor and love of life of her dad's. She has started to play more and more by herself-she thinks that she is pretty funny-has become OBSESSED with Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and has started to do this dance move of sorts where she cocks her head to one side and leans over and then repeats on the other side-it is soooo cute! I cannot believe that she is going to be 8 months next week!! She is going to have some 'professional' pictures taken early next month and I cannot wait. I just ordered a few more pictures of her from when she was first born and it is absolutely AMAZING to see how much she has changed..and then kind of sad too :( It makes me want another baby....until she wakes up at 3:00 in the morning! Reality quickly sets back in!!
In other news: Brooke and her cousins Jack & Lily have been quite busy playing outside and enjoying the weather ! Aunt Amy was brave enough to take all three kiddos outside at our house this week to enjoy the great outdoors-I think that they did pretty well! We are nervous and looking forward to the first big cousin sleep over this weekend at the Flemings!!!

My brothers wedding weekend
This weekend looks like it is going to be very busy for the Fleming family. My sisters kiddos are coming to stay with us from Saturday thru Monday so that they can enjoy a weekend get away. this will either show us that Brooke is destined to be an only child or if she will get to have a few siblings of her own :)

Swimming :)
Brooke went to the pool for the first time today! I know that most of you would be terribly surprised that I ventured out to the pool as you know my feelings on public swimming, but this local was very nice (our friend Lindsay's condo complex) and we couldn't pass up the opportunity for mom to get a little sun and for Brooke to hang with her girlfriend Lauren!
This is the most swimming and hanging out that Brooke did with Lauren! Lauren kicked some serious butt swimming, kicking, splashing and even going under water in the pool. Brooke on the other hand, preferred to be in the raft sound asleep...seriously?!!!
After Brooke's strenuous swim in the pool, she just had to lounge and relax in the stroller while enjoying a beverage-exhausted I'm sure...
All done! She was ready to head out-but gave mom one last cute picture to blog about of course :)
Only picture you will see of mom in the water with the gals! Lauren is showing us her "SO BIG" while Brooke is once again passed out...she is so out of control!!
Special THANKS and SHOUT OUT to Lindsay (Lauren Lu's mama) who was such a wonderful friend by inviting us to come over for lunch (she makes some phenomenal salads!) and taking us to her pool. We had a GREAT TIME! Well, I did, Brooke doesn't remember much..!

She's a Talker!
In other news, we finally got carpet put down in our basement! It was so exciting! It actually looks like a real space now and it is great!! All that we have left to do is some final installations in the bathroom and behind the bar along with a little bit more painting. As I type, Gary is working on installing the television and built in speakers (the most important things right?) so those should be good to go by tomorrow. I think that I am going to work on painting my chalkboard wall tomorrow night so Jack can play with it on Wednesday. He will be so pumped I'm sure!
This is a HUGE week in my family as my one and only brother is getting married on Saturday. We are so incredibly excited for him and for his fiance Lindsay. It is going to be a busy week filled with final preparations all leading up to the big event and the Fleming Family is really looking forward to their Big Day-CONGRATS YOU TWO!! Pictures to come....
Also, I want to wish a Happy Anniversary to my brother and sister-in-law Brian & Lisa Fleming. They are far away in Orlando FL and we hope to be able to come and visit them soon-Disney Land anyone??!!

Wedding Weekend in KC!!
This past weekend, one of my good friends got married in KC. Gary and I had been looking forward to having a little get-away and attend a very fun wedding, but it was not meant to be....On Thursday (the day before we were set to leave) Brooke came down with a terrible stomach flu. She was absolutely miserable and had a temperature of almost 102. We were not about to leave her at my sisters and have them take this on...nor could we both stand to not be with her while she was so ill.
Gary ended up staying home and I went to KC. I had a GREAT time at the wedding and with all of my friends, although Gary was greatly missed :) The wedding itself was gorgeous as were the bride and groom! By the time that I got home on Sunday, Brooke was already beginning to act more like herself and we couldn't be more glad!

Brooke also decided to surprise us over the weekend and cut her first tooth! One down and only 5 more to go before we catch up with our cousin Lily! It is the bottom center right tooth-and I think that the center left is not too far behind. She is taking this pretty hard (I wonder where she gets her 'dramatic' side from??) and is constantly needing to be with mom or dad.
I had to run up to Babies R Us today to make sure my crib was not re-called. I had been reading my sisters Parents magazine and noticed a crib that appeared to be the same as mine. I couldn't find my documentation at home, so I headed to the source...While we were shopping, a lady approached us and kept telling me how cute my daughter was. I completely agree with her-Brooke is stunning-but, this was not an "on" day for her. She is completely drooling, had nothing but a frown on her face and not to mention the fact that she recently cut her cheek right below her eye!! The lady was an employee of the photo store within Babies R Us and offered to take a few pictures of her and I would get one free 8x10 as well. We took her up on her offer and although they are not the 'best' pictures ever...they are still pretty darn cute. I even ended up ordering a few pics for Fathers Day so all was good. I included a few of our photo session pics below!!

Gary kind of felt that this last one was inappropriate-like she was a tiger or something...he is out of control..I guess I will not mention that I totally let her borrow Lily's two-piece yesterday!!!
