So, Brooke is now sleeping WAY longer at night..thank goodness! She was exclusively sleeping in her car seat (or on top of one of us!), but she has since moved on to sleeping in her pack and play. That started to die down when we re-discovered the world of swaddling (those who have children will agree that it is a phenomenal invention!). Once she has been swaddled, she is good to go for at least 4.5 house which is HUGE in our house :) She didn't last too long in the pack and play, though, and we had to invest in a mini-bed for her that fits in ours-safe to say we will not be having any more children for awhile :) It works, though, and she is happy which is what is important right?!?! At least Gary & I aren't sleeping in the family room anymore..yes, for those that didn't know that we were totally camping it out in our living room-don't ask! My back is feeling way better these days! I swear, the things that you will do for your child..! ! ! ! Hopefully we will transition her into her own "official" room soon..the one that we invested all of the money into before she arrived...any advice on how to do so is appreciated! We will see how it goes :)

Brooke vs the Booger...
So, I had my first real 'freak out' session yesterday. After a successful Doctors appointment, we came home to an uneventful evening. While I was feeding Brooke, she started to make this bizarre (& loud) snorting noise while trying to drink her bottle. It really started to scare me because it looked like she was struggling to breathe. I immediately called her Doctor & spoke to a nurse who said he would call me right back. I then called my mom and told her that I needed her to come over because something was really wrong. Gary had told me to call the DR office back and tell them this was an emergency-right as I was about to call the DR back (or call 911...I was debating which was going to be faster...) the DR called me back. He asked me to put Brooke up to the phone so he could hear the breathing...he then told me to use the saline nose drops that I had..he then told me to use the bulb syringe to suction out each nostril..I also did this. The DR asked me if anything came out...a HUGE Booger had come out and breathing had automatically returned to normal :) The DR listened to Brooke again and determined all was fine. I then apologized for calling the DR in a panic for a booger...so embarrassing! Just as embarrassing was my mom rushing over only to arrive and learn the diagnosis!
All is now well and we will not be traveling without the nose drops or bulb syringe anytime soon :)

1st Doctor's Visit
Well, we had our first Doctor's visit today and Brooke did a GREAT job...but she didn't have to get any shots so maybe that had something to do with it!! Those will come next time. Brooke weighed in at 9.2 pounds...so anyone guessing 9 pounds in the poll are the big winners :) She grew one inch and now measures 21 1/4. She's in the 55% in both categories which is perfect...no surprise there!
Hope everyone has a Great Thanksgiving!!!

Growing Family Weblink
Well, Brooke is so popular she has yet another website!
This is a link to the pictures that were taken at the hospital. They are not the "best" as she was only a few days old and was not too interested in the photo session. We are having more professional ones taken tomorrow by Lisa's sister Amy and I will post those as soon as we get them :)
http://www.our365.com/webnursery/WebNursery/BabyFinder/BabyFinderFamilyResults.aspx
This should take you to the page that lists Brooke F. If not, you can just go to Growing Family's website (www.growingfamily.com) and do a search for her.
Enjoy!

Brooke is Born! ! ! !
Brooke is here!!
Brooke Avery Fleming arrived today at 3:56 a.m. weighing 7 lbs 7 oz. She decided to be very stubborn and have mom go through 30 hours of labor before arriving via c-section. Only another sign that she will be high maintenance and a drama queen..wherever could she get that from??
