So, I had my first real 'freak out' session yesterday. After a successful Doctors appointment, we came home to an uneventful evening. While I was feeding Brooke, she started to make this bizarre (& loud) snorting noise while trying to drink her bottle. It really started to scare me because it looked like she was struggling to breathe. I immediately called her Doctor & spoke to a nurse who said he would call me right back. I then called my mom and told her that I needed her to come over because something was really wrong. Gary had told me to call the DR office back and tell them this was an emergency-right as I was about to call the DR back (or call 911...I was debating which was going to be faster...) the DR called me back. He asked me to put Brooke up to the phone so he could hear the breathing...he then told me to use the saline nose drops that I had..he then told me to use the bulb syringe to suction out each nostril..I also did this. The DR asked me if anything came out...a HUGE Booger had come out and breathing had automatically returned to normal :) The DR listened to Brooke again and determined all was fine. I then apologized for calling the DR in a panic for a booger...so embarrassing! Just as embarrassing was my mom rushing over only to arrive and learn the diagnosis!
All is now well and we will not be traveling without the nose drops or bulb syringe anytime soon :)
