The Proof

It has finally happened...

Brooke took her first steps!! It happened first on Saturday (while dad was out of town of course) while we were at the park. She reached her hands out towards me and took what I swore to be two steps. I took this is stride (no pun intended) and waited to see if she would do it again. Today while we were at Amy's house with her cousin's she officially took two more steps on two separate occasions!! I was thrilled! I tried to tell Jack thinking that he would also be excited but when I asked if he wanted to see..he told me no. When I told Gary on the phone he was so disappointed that he had missed both events. When we got home this evening I was determined that she had to show dad that she could do it...sure enough, she not only took two more steps towards me, but she even walked to dad!!! It was so fun!! I cannot wait for her to keep on going! I know that everyone says that soon I will regret that statement when she starts to run away from me and more, but I am just so thrilled for her. The look of excitement and pride on Brooke's face when she takes those steps is priceless!! I have a feeling that she will be walking away by that first birthday-only 1.5 months to go :)

Brooke's first pair of jeans!! Are they not fabulous?? She is adjusting to her new pants, but is still having a bit of an issue with crawling/standing in them-not quite the same as her yoga style pants. Thanks to her aunt Marci for the adorable top & sweatshirt combo as well-she is so fashion forward!

In other news, Brooke wore jeans for the first time today-pictures to come later on tonight when I figure out how to use my sisters computer and upload pics (i am being an awesome sister & sister-in-law and watching all of the kiddo so my sister and her hubby can go out and party).

Labor Day Weekend

This weekend was a busy one for our family. We started the weekend with our friends Dan and Jackie getting married. The reception was held at Windows off Washington right among the crowds celebrating the Mizzou Football win!! Great times were had by all :)

The rest of our weekend was spent with friends and family relaxing and enjoying the holiday. Brooke and I stopped by my mom & dads house on Monday morning. Brooke got grandma & grandpa all to herself :)

We also stopped by our friends the Pietoso's house on Monday where Brooke got to go swimming with her Uncle Ande! She had a great time the ten minutes that she stayed in the water :)

After swim-time, we headed over to Grandma & Grandpa Flemings house to have dinner with our family. Brooke had a great time with Gigi and Grandpa as well as Uncle Mike and Aunt Lindsay.

Tuesday started off the same as my Monday's do! I headed over to the Kallers house to watch the kiddos! The kids were fabulous all day long, until Jack had his breakdown and didn't like Kelly the rest of the day. Play by play below...

Don't worry, we ended up making up after I allowed the TV to be turned back on after he helped pick up the toys!! It also helps that he took a nap :)

not on top of my blogging game....

So, I have self admittingly not been on my game when it comes to this blog this week. I am sorry for all you who were just dying to know what was going on with us since Monday (sheshe..!!). I will not dissapoint, so here is your fill of what has been going on in the Fleming household...even though most of you will not read this until Tuesday after enjoying your long Holiday weekends :)

This week has been a little bit hard on miss Brooke. She has not been 100% since last Sunday dealing with some 'tummy issues.' I will spare you all the details and leave it at that! The poor gal doesn't even want to eat anymore because I think that she is scared I am going to give her more bland food!! I am hoping and praying that this bug will pass soon...On top of the 'tummy issues' she also developed a cold two days ago which does not help either!! What more can a ten month old take! Here's to hoping that by the end of this weekend, Brooke is back to her diva self!

Brooke absolutly LOVES going on the swings. Gary and I took her to the park on Sunday and she had a BLAST swinging.

Following the swings, we took it up a notch and hit up the slide. Do you like the action shot! She was so pumped to go down the slide...not quite by herself yet, though :)

How PO'd does Brooke look?? This was the start of the cold...poor Aunt Amy! The Kaller kids were rocking it out in my backyard on Wednesday only to have drama queen not want to be touching the grass anymore...where does she get the attitude from??

One of our new favorite obsessions: Staring out the sliding door. Dad was outside finishing the BBQ and Brooke was so excited to stand up by the door and watch him! She is such a big girl! Notice-no hands...

2nd new obsessions-Brooke's 'secret' cave aka: our end table. Brooke will crawl back and forth through the cave all day long. She will even occasionally try to pull down the lamp on top of her (she has succeeded once...totally FREAKED me out!!) Soon, our house will be completely accessory-less. She has now discovered that it is fun to just chill in the cave...jealous??

Goings on...

My brother and sister-in-law had their first 'child' over the weekend...they purchased a brand new puppy (and mix of a Yorke and a Bischion (sp??)) that they named Zoey. They brought her over to our house on Sunday and she and Bella had a great time running around in our back yard together. Brooke was also interested in this 'smaller' puppy and she loved having her over. We have already told them that when they need a babysitter, we are happy to take her in :)

Later on Sunday evening, Gary, Brooke, Bella and I headed to the park by our house. Brooke had a GREAT time on the swings and on the slide-it was Gary's first time getting to see Brooke in action on the swings :)
