not on top of my blogging game....

So, I have self admittingly not been on my game when it comes to this blog this week. I am sorry for all you who were just dying to know what was going on with us since Monday (sheshe..!!). I will not dissapoint, so here is your fill of what has been going on in the Fleming household...even though most of you will not read this until Tuesday after enjoying your long Holiday weekends :)

This week has been a little bit hard on miss Brooke. She has not been 100% since last Sunday dealing with some 'tummy issues.' I will spare you all the details and leave it at that! The poor gal doesn't even want to eat anymore because I think that she is scared I am going to give her more bland food!! I am hoping and praying that this bug will pass soon...On top of the 'tummy issues' she also developed a cold two days ago which does not help either!! What more can a ten month old take! Here's to hoping that by the end of this weekend, Brooke is back to her diva self!

Some pictures for you all to enjoy :)

Brooke absolutly LOVES going on the swings. Gary and I took her to the park on Sunday and she had a BLAST swinging.

Following the swings, we took it up a notch and hit up the slide. Do you like the action shot! She was so pumped to go down the slide...not quite by herself yet, though :)

How PO'd does Brooke look?? This was the start of the cold...poor Aunt Amy! The Kaller kids were rocking it out in my backyard on Wednesday only to have drama queen not want to be touching the grass anymore...where does she get the attitude from??

One of our new favorite obsessions: Staring out the sliding door. Dad was outside finishing the BBQ and Brooke was so excited to stand up by the door and watch him! She is such a big girl! Notice-no hands...

Oh, mom totally caught her!!! Ok-pose for the camera :)

2nd new obsessions-Brooke's 'secret' cave aka: our end table. Brooke will crawl back and forth through the cave all day long. She will even occasionally try to pull down the lamp on top of her (she has succeeded once...totally FREAKED me out!!) Soon, our house will be completely accessory-less. She has now discovered that it is fun to just chill in the cave...jealous??

Hope that everyone has a fun and safe Holiday Weekend! We will be celebrating a friends wedding and cannot wait! I promise, more pics to come this weekend...stay tuned :)

Goings on...

My brother and sister-in-law had their first 'child' over the weekend...they purchased a brand new puppy (and mix of a Yorke and a Bischion (sp??)) that they named Zoey. They brought her over to our house on Sunday and she and Bella had a great time running around in our back yard together. Brooke was also interested in this 'smaller' puppy and she loved having her over. We have already told them that when they need a babysitter, we are happy to take her in :)

Zoey hanging out in the basement..already working the camera

Zoey nipping on Brooke's toes-Brooke didn't even mind in the least! She just kept smiling :)

Brooke getting to play with her chalkboard!! Not so much using the chalkboard as much as wanting to chew on the magnets..we'll get there...

Later on Sunday evening, Gary, Brooke, Bella and I headed to the park by our house. Brooke had a GREAT time on the swings and on the slide-it was Gary's first time getting to see Brooke in action on the swings :)

Having fun with Dad on the slide!!!

A day at the ZOO!

This Tuesday, Brooke and I met up with our friends Lindsay & Lauren for a day at the zoo. Lauren was an old pro having gone to the zoo when she was only a few weeks old, but this was Brooke's first time and I think that she had a blast!! We went to the children's zoo which was a ton of fun and the girls even played in the fountains-I think that Lauren enjoyed it a bit more then Brooke :) We even got to ride the train-although Brooke did sleep through that portion...all in all it was a great day with perfect weather and we cannot wait to go back again!!

Brooke at the children's zoo posing on top of a large orange frog-she loved it!

Brooke posing when we first arrived at the zoo-in her fabulous zebra shirt (stripes are slimming). We had some lunch at the Painted Giraffe while waiting for the girls.

Lindsay & Lauren with the goats-the girls were totally fascinated and we were totally holding our breath!

Brooke being a bit hesitant as usual-but always ready for the camera.

She was all ready for this one! At the children's zoo they have a jeep for the kiddos. We let Lauren take the wheel because she is a month older :) They were having a great time and annoying the boys that were waiting in line and checking them out of course :)

This was the point where mom's camera battery died-I know 'mom of the year' right?? I even made sure I had my memory card on me etc. but 1/3 of the way through the day and I am battery-less. All the more reason to go again I guess!

Weekend Activities

This weekend we were invited to a 1st Birthday Party!! It was such a fun theme 'Thing One and Thing Two' as the Birthday kids are adorable twins Parker and Finley. Brooke had such a GREAT time and was exhausted enough to take a 3 hour nap when she got home :) Thank you to the Meeks! Pictures from the party-sorry I didn't get too many :(

The Birthday Boy & Birthday Girl getting into their chocolate cake! This is by far my favorite part of 1st Birthday parties-too cute!

There was an adorable boy at the party named Noah that I think Brooke may have had a crush on-seriously...look at that grin! The kids were playing when Noah's mom asked him to give Brooke a kiss..he obliged and then we got this blush from Brooke :) Boy Crazy???

One of the kids favorite gifts-an Elmo that falls down, laughs and stands up again by itself-seriously, who comes up with this stuff?? I was all about cabbage patch dolls and my little ponys...WHO WASN'T! Do I even have to mention Glow Worms...I digress..

When I went shopping this weekend for the kids birthday, I couldn't resist a good buy at Target. They had a pink laptop that was only $20.00! It is made for five year olds because it have games on it, etc. but it has the important features that Brooke likes about my computer (keys, a mouse and a real screen). She 'beamed' when I gave it to her. After all, she has slept in her bed the last five nights all by herself (through the night) an has been taking naps in her bed too-she deserves it :)

Loving the stairs in the basement. Brooke and I decided to play downstairs and she loovveess me to chase her now. She laughs so hard and crawls so fast to 'escape' me! Today, she decided to go up the stairs-I let her get to one before I said no, but she was too cute to not let her try it out!

Notice the booty pose..

Talk about it...

So much to discuss, so much to discuss! It has been quite 'eventful' around the Fleming house-well, at least in our eyes!!

Tell me what you think about this...
I am on the phone yesterday (quite busy actually-on a work call), Bella is FLIPPING out because someone is at the door and Brooke is continuing to alternate between "mama" and "uh oh" like it is her job. I go to the door already annoyed with their presence and I discover that it is two fairly nice dressed dudes from AT&T. I open the door and they say, "hi...can we speak to your mom??" WHAT?? "No" I respond, "I am the mom." OK-granted I am short and all, but do they think that I am 12?? Compliment or Insult?? I am not quite sure...

Brooke is totally almost walking-even though I know that I say that all of the time :) She is finally taking advantage of a toy that I brought her awhile ago and walking around the family room. I swear that she tried to take a step yesterday when her Grandma & Grandpa Fleming came over-but Bella got pissed and seriously jumped off of the couch and knocked her down (paw to the stomach style) It was totally rude and uncalled for-way to be bella...

We started making some FABULOUS headbands at work that I love (yes, in monogram format, my married initials do spell out KFC-a customer was lovely enough to point that out to me today...OBVIOUSLY I know this lady!!)

Brooke did LOVE wearing my headband, though, and she looks totally cuter then me in it so props to her! It is totally awesome that she loves hair accessories!

Well, Brooke is almost 10 months old so Gary and I figured it was about time to introduce her to bud light-better her parents then peer pressure right?? Obviously just kidding, but she has grown to have a HUGE fascination of the refrigerator and this was the first item she went for last night. Note her excitement at the can of brew...

Even more thrilled as she discovers how to 'drink' her find!

Passed out after only one beer! She must take after her mother :)
Once again, totally kidding-but she did take a snooze on the kitchen floor when Aunt Amy was babysitting today. Amy said that one minute she was playing with her magnets in the kitchen on the fridge when it got really quite (usually not a good sign). When Amy when to check on her, there she was...sleeping on the kitchen floor! She must take after that mom after all! Another joke folks :) I was actually a bit concerned as to why she would do this before I remembered that my sister Maggie once climbed up 4 shelves in her closet only to clear the toys off and sleep there..one the shelf! My mom spent hours looking for her & may have called all of our neighbors is not the police only to find her in the closet-6 feet up. I guess my family is totally bizarre with sleep I don't know...
I also happened to recieve The BEST birthday present in the WORLD today from my sister Tracie. I am a huge coffee drinker (black-no sugar no cream) and I have recently developed a desire to have many tacky coffee mugs because when your a mom that is what you must have! Tracie decided to make me a mug with one of my all time favorite pictures of Maggie on it with the following description:

"Coffee is better then mango's!"

Coffee is better then mango's...do you know what else is better then melons??

What else have the Fleming kids been up to?? Michael Phelps...all night long Michael Phelps. Gary and I have never 'really' been that into the Olympics, but this time we are so totally into 'The Games." Our favorites so far have been girls gymnastics, men's swimming and I like womens beach volleyball too. And..when did they get hand ball?? What's up with that?? With that said...we have Phelps on now..I am going to have to go...

This was my first Birthday celebrating with Brooke and it was the best birthday so far :) We had a nice dinner at my parents house and Amy, Joe and the kids along with my grandma and grandpa were able to join us. Thank so much to everyone that was able to come and those of you who couldn't make it-you were missed!! Enjoy the pictures (even though it is my bday it is totally the kids who steal the camera :))

My BFF-Lauren

This week on Tuesday, Brooke and I headed over to the Sonnenbergs for some fun with the girls! It is always the intention of Lindsay and I to get some work done for our children's clothing line, but we constantly get distracted by these two cuties-how can you resist!!

Getting into the fridge for a mid-day snack

Totally caught in the act!

As soon as the dishwasher was open, Lauren had lept on top! Brooke was amazed! Then she saw Lauren's toes-even more amazing!!

Totally hamming it up for the camera!

Happy Friday :)
