She totally likes me the best right?

Last night (or more early this morning) I head Brooke call for me yet again. Hoping not to find a naked child using her floor as a diaper again I went to check on her. She was waiting for me at the door and informed me that she did need to be changed. No problem. I noticed that there was a terrible stench in the room, but maybe it was just my imagination..it was very early and I was very tired.

After she was all set, she asked me to lay with her in her bed. Wanting to do anything to catch at least one more hour of sleep I agreed. I am SO glad that I laid her down before crawling into her bed myself. There in front of me was the awful stench I had smelt in the room-throw up. Lots of throw up. Thanks for mentioning that to me Brooke! Out of the bed she came and I went to get Gary for back up / clean up. Once the hero (aka Dad) came to the room it was "see you later" to mom. She gave Dad the puppy dog eyes, fake cry and instantly I was left to clean up the vomit alone. Oh-before they left me she did request that I pick the contents out of her hair-why was Mom chosen to do this again? I thought I was on comfort patrol and brought Gary in to take care of the nastiness on the bed? He even got a, "Love you Daddy." Wait-who was the one that came in the room when you called??!! Not Dad! He was fast asleep! I am simply the household, vomit cleaning slave-nothing more. That's ok, I am sure that she will do me the courtesy of giving me her 24hr bug next-it is the least she can do right :)

Urine and vomit two days in a row-can life get any better??!!

Nap time

Since today is President's Day, Brooke did not attend her usual Monday Kids Day Out. I stayed in (on this incredibly snowy day) with both ladies and, as usual, Brooke brought excitement to our day by mid-afternoon.

It was nap time and I left her in her to settle in for a good 1.5-2 hour nap...it was not to be. After being alone in the bedroom for maybe 30 minutes, I heard the infamous, "MOM! Mommy need you!" I have to admit, I thought it was her basic ploy to get me back there to either 1. get a cup of water or 2. simply not take her nap. I let the request go for about 5 more minutes, but when she kept calling out for me I began to think that I may actually be needed for something. When I opened the door, there she was-no pants, no diaper-just hanging out in a Notre Dame sweatshirt among 6 pairs of underwear. Well-at least she knew where to find those but DUDE your not potty trained what are you doing??

I asked, "Brooke-what is going on in here?"
To which she replied, "Mom, I peed."
Me, "In your diaper? Is that why you took it off?"
Brooke, "no-in dere" (pointing to her closet)....

I'm sorry...what?? Who pees in the closet except for overly served college aged males in the middle of the night??

Brooke, "You clean it up, ok?!"
Me, "Brooke, get back in bed-take a nap..and please do not pee in the closet anymore-we are trying to sell a house after all :)"

Don't worry, I did clean up said urine.

She is now napping and re-dressed in a diaper and WonderPet underwear over the diaper. I am really hoping that this is getting us one step closer to actually being at least interested in potty training.....

Lashes for Days...

This is one feature Caroline can be glad she got from her father. I have never seen eyelashes like hers before. Brooke's come in a close second, but Carolines are just gorgeous-like could be in a commercial beautiful. Lucky Lady :)

Moving Right Along

Well, it's official. We are moving-well, we are trying to move at least. The house went on the market this past Wednesday and there is a sign in the yard. That made it real for me. We had talked and talked about putting the house on the market, but to actually see the sign in the yard made it real.

When the house went 'live' online Wednesday, we got a phone call hours later for our first viewing. We were so.not.ready. After running around the house and soliciting the help of my mom (who has sold at least 5 houses herself) we dashed out of the house and people came to look at it. I thought for sure they would buy it right? I mean-what is there not to love??!! We haven't gotten an offer yet :)

What I didn't know about selling a house was all of the effort that was going to go into the process. We two little kids we already get up pretty early in the morning. On top of getting them both ready for the day, ourselves presentable (because who am I kidding-there is not too much 'primping' in my life right now!) we now have to get the house in 'selling' shape. I am talking full dusting, vacuuming, windexing, bed-making ready. Every.Single.Morning.

Maybe some of you do these things on a daily morning basis (Etta)-if so, more power to you. We do not. I was honestly sore after the rush to get the house ready on Wednesday. I am not sure how pathetic that is that I am so out of shape that a mad cleaning of the house makes me feel like I did an hour at the gym-so sad. Maybe selling the house will help me lose this last 1.5 pounds...and get in shape for the upcoming weddings?? Wishful thinking...

Trying to find our next house is also stressful. I just started back at work and now have to make time to even see these new houses-it is tough. Gary and I also have differing opinions on our next home. Since he has climbed into Bob Vila's body and now wants to fix up everything, he wants to buy a house that he can still 'update.' I am looking for a move-in ready house that really doesn't need anything done to it. Needless to say, we haven't found anything yet.

So I continue to sit by my phone, wait for it to ring letting me know that someone wants to tour our house. I think I am going to get a St. Joseph statue today....Wish us luck!!

Do you think??

If there was ever a question of whether these girls were sisters, there isn't anymore! I mean, sometimes I cannot get over how much their baby pictures look alike (at least I think so!)!! What do you think??

Caroline at 2 months

AND...one of Miss Caroline's smile because it is too cute not to share :)

Like Father, Like Daughter

I try not to call and bother Gary at work, but yesterday I made an exception. Brooke hasn't been feeling too well the last couple of days so she has been relaxing on the couch watching movies most of the day. I has asked Brooke what movie she wanted to watch and (of course) she told me that The Wiggles was her choice (yeah...lucky me..I am so much more of a Happy Feet person). I told her to put the DVD in the XBox which she has done a million times. This time, though, before she put it in, she started to breath heavily onto the back of the DVD. She then proceeded to lick the back of the movie and then rub it on her stomach. I couldn't help but laugh and she looked at me totally confused why I would find this to be amusing. This MUST have been something Gary would have taught her (or she learned from watching him). Sure enough, a phone call to Gary confirmed that he always cleans her sticky finger marks and who knows what else off of the DVD before putting them in the XBox. He thought that it was so funny that she has apparently caught on and now practices this same procedure herself...well, minus the licking. Gary informed me that he does not lick the DVD's-Brooke added that special touch in all by herself.

To explain the pictures above, I had an un-healthy obsession with Trolls as a child. My sister and I collected them-from key chain size to large (who would every purchase that) Santa Claus Troll and even a few stuffed animal ones. Brooke for one is VERY happy that I collected these and goes right for them when we go to my parents house. Gary said that I couldn't bring them home with us as he is totally disturbed by them....

Caroline is 2 Months!!

Today was the big two month check up-shot and all :) Of course, big sister Brooke has a cold, so the entire family headed to the pediatrician to get checked out. Luckily, all that she has is a cold-nothing worse, but she has passed it on to her sister so that has been fun for Gary and me. Now for the stats....Caroline is now 23 1/4 inches long (95%) and weighs 11 lbs, 9 oz (25%). I couldn't believe she was over 11 lbs!! I thought that she was going to be off the charts...not so much. Still long and lean..what is up with that??!! She is right on target in terms of 'activity' (if you can even call it that...she smiles and can lift her head 45 degrees) and the only thing that is of concern is a flat spot on the right side of her head. I had noticed it the other day and pointed it out to Gary. She tends to favor that side and her neck muscles are getting a bit tight. We just have to work on turning her the opposite way in her bed and helping her turn to her left as much as we can. The DR also let us know that we can start letting her sleep as long as she would like at night. This is GREAT news to our ears! I think that she could honestly make it through the night. We were still having to wake her up for her nightly feeding, but no longer! We cannot wait to once again get a good nights sleep :) Next appointment isn't until 4 months!!
