Nightmares

Anyone else going through this??

Lately Brooke seems to be getting nightmares...and on a nightly basis.

We finally got Caroline sleeping through the night and now Brooke is up night after night....running into our room in hysterics. It can range from a lion outside the window to a monster anywhere in her room. We have re-assured, showed her that no one or thing is anywhere in her room and that she is totally safe. Sometimes this works. Other times-no dice. The only thing she wants to do is lay with mom & dad until she feels better. I am totally ok with the occasional snuggle session in bed, but every night?? Suggestions are welcome :) How long do these night terrors last??!!

Lily is THREE

Even though I cannot believe it, Lily turned three on Friday. I still feel like Amy just called us to let us know
Ms. Lils was arriving three weeks early!

We kicked off the celebration at Amy & Joe's with a birthday bash that included a visit from Ariel herself :)

This may have been the best birthday gift her parents could have given her. Even the dads (and grandpas) were excited to see Ariel :)

All of the kids were enthralled with Princess Ariel. She read stories, played games and even sang a song. If I even had a quasi good voice, I think that this would be my dream job. You have adoring fans everywhere you go!

 Fans of all ages :)

Happy Birthday Lily!!!

P90-Week Two

Week two is done and I still hate Kempo. I actually had a partner for Kempo yesterday (Maggie) and while it did make it a bit more fun, Kempo still sucks. Maybe I am just not made for karate :)

Other then the terribleness that is Kempo (sick of reading that word yet?), I am still plugging away. There have been a few moments where I am honestly ok with quiting, but I really want to give it the full 90 days.

I feel like I am losing inches, if not big numbers on the scale. Yesterday I went swinging with Brooke in the backyard. She likes to sit on my lap and swing. Well, I didn't quite 'fit' in the swing before, but now I am a swinging fool! Who knows, in 90 days maybe I will fit in Caroline's swing...thoughts??

Pumpkin Patch

Fall has arrived and it was time for our first trip to the pumpkin patch! Dad had to sit this one out since he works on Sundays, but we met up with Uncle Mike, Aunt Lindsay and Cousin Caden. Caden's cousins Katie, Jacob and Julia also met us there with their mom and dad making it one big play date!

It was a bit chilly when the wind started blowing, so we didn't last more then an hour, but the girls had such a great time! We came home with four pumpkins and a lollipop so Brooke was pumped.

Brooke also rode the pony's for the first time! As soon as she saw them she asked for a ride. I couldn't believe it when she just walked in by herself and rode away! I was so proud of her and majorly disappointed her dad couldn't see it :( Her grandpa Tom will be so proud! Maybe he needs a new partner for his cattle drives!

I think that Caroline enjoyed her trip to the pumpkin patch too. She scored a pumpkin and even had a hot dog-what could be better right? And all that fresh air...girl had a three hour nap later...yay!

10 Months

Caroline is the big 10...Months!

Seriously...think about this...in exactly two months she is going to be ONE!
 (I have amazing math skills)
This is a crazy, crazy thought. Wasn't I just on bed rest??

When Brooke was ten months old, it led to big changes. This was the month that I felt she really transitioned from baby to toddler. She was talking more and the walking began

And now here we are. Ten months old. On the verge of walking (do I say this every month?), popping out teeth like it no ones business (current count is six) and even saying 'Mom' (although it could be on accident).

October is sure to bring many more exciting firsts with Caroline and I couldn't be more excited...bring it on!

P90-Week One

I officially have one week of P90X under my belt.

As Tony would say, I totally, "Brought It."

Highlights
  • I am totally sore. I actually like being sore...feels like I actually accomplished something.
  • Each workout is only a max of 1.5 hours, with most workouts being 1 hour long. This hour, though, also consists of Tony talking and a warm up and cool down. I LOVE watching the countdown on the screen...especially when 'cool down' appears. Best.Moment.Ever.
Negatives
  • The Diet. Apparently the menu does not include diet coke and red wine. I have tried to cut back on both and have also eliminated other carb filled foods. I absolutely a bread girl so this is a bit hard. I also cook for four people at night and don't really want to make separate meals. I have been looking up lots of recipes to try out.
  • Kempo. I HATE this video. For those of you unfamiliar, it is a mix of Karate and who knows what else. All I know is that if there was a hidden camera in my house, you would all get a huge kick out of my jab/hook/cross/upper cut combo...
