On the mend

Does this girl look like she is getting better or what?!?! Brooke was starting to feel better today-at least she loved that I gave her an apple!

Today we had a friend over to play as her parents had to attend a funeral. Brooke was not 100%, but I think that the girls had fun.

No-Brooke is not slouching she is just that short! She is only 1 month younger but how funny do they look next to each other! I never realize what a small fry she is but she is almost a head shorter then her girl friend!

I think that tomorrow Brooke will be back to 100%-at least I am hoping for the Kaller kids sake :)

A beautiful sunny Sunday at the ER

This weekend, little miss Brooke didn't feel so good. She was her usual perky self until Saturday morning when she seemed to have a slight fever. By Saturday evening, her fever had spiked to 104. I called our exchange, but after watching her symptoms and having her fever drop, they didn't feel it necessary to have her go to the ER. When Sunday came, she just didn't look right to me. I spoke to my doctor and he said to bring her in. I am glad that I did because it ended up that she had an ear infection in one ear and what appeared to be slight pneumonia-although they think that it could just be viral related. She got some Amoxicillin and we have been resting (and watching The Wiggles) ever since. I am hoping that she is back to her happy self by tomorrow :)

PS-Thanks to a fabulous cousin, we discovered that The Wiggles are coming to STL this August! We are pumped-especially Gary. Anyone want to join us???

Evesdropping

Today Brooke and I met two of my good friends at STL Bread Co (Panera for those of you non-St. Louisans) for lunch. We were having a nice chat when we noticed that the woman sitting next to us (with her two children..one being about 7 or 8 and in full plastic bid..what?) completely engaged in our conversation. At first one could think that we were imagining things-why would she be interested in the lives of three girls she has never seen/met before right? It was not our imagination, though, for a solid hour she sat there fully staring at us and evesdropping! I mean come on lady at least be non-chalant and just listen..don't stare! I hope she got a good ear-full. Maybe we should have invited her over...

Oh, and when I got home from lunch I decided to take Brooke's shoes off to get ready for her nap. Come to find out that Brooke's shoes had been one the wrong feet all day-way to go Gary!! He claims that they are so small it is hard to figure it out when your in a hurry..right.

I wear my sunglasses at night....

Brooke received a surprise package from her Aunt Marci yesterday. She got a SUPER cute new outfit as well as some seriously trendy sunglasses. They are perfect because Brooke no longer grabs for mine-totally a win for both of us. Brooke will no longer go anywhere without her sunglasses-rain or shine. This morning as we were leaving the house at 7:30 a.m. on a cloudy, gross day Brooke was stylin. She looked like this the entire car ride.

We had to take Bella to the vet. She hurt her knee about two weeks ago and the vet decided that they wanted to do an x-ray. They discovered that she had torn her meniscus. Apparently on large dogs, surgery would be immediate. Because Bella is small, though, they are hopeful that it will heal itself over the next 3-4 weeks with rest and medicine. We are hopeful because Bella and our bank account would not handle surgery well.

Brooke had a 'great' time at the vet. My five star parenting skills were in full effect. I tried my best to entertain her with the random items in my purse and the free brochures in the room (Urinalysis for you pet anyone??) but she was no fool. She knew that the real fun lied on the floor-literally...

Getting after that new brochure on "your aging dog"

Seriously-who let's their child roll around on a who knows what covered vet floor?? One very tired on...We are seriously thinking about taking a bath tonight.

Knickerbocker , Knickerbocker number 9

Happy 3rd Birthday Jack!

This weekend we celebrated not only Easter, but also Amy and Jack's Birthday-one of them turned 3-I will let you decide...

This year we also started what we hope will be new tradition of going to my parents house at Innsbrooke to celebrate Easter. They have an Easter egg hunt which I liked because they divided the kids up into different age groups which I think helped a lot. The kids each got few eggs and they were totally happy!

Grandpa & Brooke

Nice Tracie-keeping the Easter spirit

The ladies of Innsbrooke-totally distraught that someone smartened up and brought a gate this time around-better luck next time!

Oh-and the title of this blog....Brooke's new FAVORITE Wiggles tune-enjoy...

The Little Gym

Brooke and I met some friends today at The Little Gym to try out a class. Brooke had SO MUCH fun! She LOVED everything-from shaking bells with the teacher to playing on the gymnastics equipment she actually smiled and laughed the whole time!! For those of you know that know Brooke, she tends to be pretty serious in 'new situations' but she really opened up! I was very proud of her!!

All smiles after a forward roll down the mat.

Only downside was Gary being disturbed by the 4 stamps that Brooke got at the end of class-one on each hand and foot...we didn't care, though, because Brooke was PUMPED for stamps!

Easter Egg Hunt

Yesterday, Brooke and I met up with Grandma & Grandpa Fleming and did an Easter Egg hunt at Gary's old high school. It is an alumni sponsored event that is totally free and we had a great time! They had a 'very quick' Palm Sunday Mass followed by the Hunt down on the football field. By the time Brooke had made her way to the field, most of the eggs were gone. They were some half shells, though, that she was more then happy to take. A few parents also forced their children to give back some of their 30 eggs so that the little kids could have some-Brooke took full advantage of those freebies too :)

Searching the field for eggs-looks pretty empty by this point huh??

Brooke not being choosy at all-1/2 an egg?? I will take it!

Thank you SO MUCH to Grandma & Grandpa Fleming for coming with us to the Easter Egg hunt. We had SO MUCH fun!!
