Serious Caroline

These are the faces we have been getting from Caroline lately.....

Serious. Serious. Serious.
Or crying.

Poor girl has been getting her two front teeth in.
This has led to running nose, tears, refusing to eat and...more tears.
I finally saw one of those pearly whites break through yesterday-thank goodness.
I hope this means we have turned a corner.

I miss the happiest baby in town!!

Up, Up, Up

Ladies and gentlemen...we have a climber....

This past weekend, Caroline decided to show us all her new skill-climbing. She surprised Gary on Saturday when they were playing in the basement. One second she was playing with toys, the next she was half way up the steps. Break out the baby gates!

So proud :)

Wow...I made it to the top and they didn't even stop me...what do I do now??

Get my lipstick applied by my big sister of course.

Family Playdate

This weekend, we had some friends over for food and fun. We have known Dan & Jackie since college and they have two beautiful daughters right around Brooke and Carolines ages. The girls had so much fun...although you will notice a lack of Caroline pictures. She decided to go to bed at a very early 6:45. Too much fun for her!

Caroline introduced Ava to her swing set and dress up clothes. I think that she liked them both!

We cannot wait to have them over again soon...and maybe the little girls will get in on some play time too :)

Meet Sophie

Have you met Sophie??
And her friends
Pie...

& Gnon??

If your the mom of a teething child, then I am sure that you have.
I was a little hesitant to buy into the $20 teething toy, but today we did just that. Call it an impulse buy, but there she was...sitting at the check out of Babies R Us. Caroline was drooling...literally.
We brought Sophie home (they didn't have the others) and she & Caroline have become fast friends.

This all natural rubber, food painted goodness may just become my 'go-to' gift for new moms.
Caroline Approved.

A very busy Sunday

Gary had to work a late shift this weekend. He headed into work at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday and didn't head home until 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. Needless to say, I knew he was going to be exhausted. If the girls saw him walk through the door, though, there was no shot at him getting any sleep all day. So, since I am an amazingly nice wife, I took the kids out of the house all day so he could rest.

Our first stop was Matt & Lindsay's house to visit with them and little baby Addison. She is officially 6 weeks now and oh so tiny...but finally filling in around the middle. Still looks way small when Matt is holding her, though.

Our next stop was Innsbrooke. We hadn't been there in a few weeks and the addition of the screened in porch and new deck had been completed. We couldn't wait to see them! Of course i was totally unprepared and we had to make a quick Target run for a swimsuit for Brooke. Nothing like a $4.00 swimsuit in a hurry!

The best shot I could get of all three girls.
Caroline was a bit disturbed and creeped out by these two that appear to be choking her.

Are you loving it?
BGF's!!

Imagine when their 13...

Untitled

We have been so busy trying to wrap up the end of summer. It finally started to cool down to a brisk 85 degrees this week so we are living it up! I cannot wait for Fall weather and all that it brings (Halloween, TONS of birthdays, b-day parties, Thanksgiving, etc!).

Until then....

Umm...when did Brooke start looking like a little tween-ager? She will be liking Hannah Montana before I know it.

Missed Celeb Sighting

Last weekend Gary & I had a night on the town. Gary had been asked to play the Black Eyed Peas after party. Don't get excited. He wasn't actually playing for the BEP (that would have been cool) but was providing entertainment in the restaurant portion of the nightclub while the band was upstairs. As you can imagine, everyone that paid the door fee headed right in to watch Gary play completing oblivious to the Grammy winning artist upstairs (right..). I mean, he plays a mean Big Girls Don't Cry.

I was pretty excited. I like the BEP and since we didn't go to the concert, I thought that this was my shot at seeing them live and possibly becoming the best of friends with The Duchess. I even pondered going to Kohls and purchasing one of her original pieces to impress her, but I ran short of time.

After being there for awhile, Gary set up to play and I headed upstairs to where the real party was (sorry Gary). I waited and waited and waited along with all the other party-goers...can you imagine how much I didn't fit in at this point?-for the band to arrive. After hearing the DJ state more then three times that they were "on their way" , "down the street" , "in the building" with nothing to show for it, I was done.

I headed back downstairs to watch the musician that did show up (and on time) Mr. Gary Fleming. It was nearing 1:15 a.m. and we were ready to head home. Gary packed up this equipment and we headed out the door.

Who do you think was walking in the side door when we left??

That's right. Fergilicious and (more importantly) her Las Vegas staring Husband. I am pretty sure I would have been even more excited to see him in person. I didn't even get to see them walking in the door, but I am pretty sure that Gary did. Jealous.

The next day, we heard that she performed upstairs for 30 minutes and was great. I heard that her husband was super nice too. So disappointing.
