Why I love Craigs List

Today MIZZOU is played in the NCAA tournament and totally WON! Brooke was sporting her MU gear to support-of course.

Enough about that, though, let's discuss why I love Craigslist and why I am the best mom ever today. I have been wanting to get Brooke something-anything to play with in the back yard. Apparently going outside and kicking a ball or chasing the dog just wasn't cutting it. I was getting desperate to the point that I was just going to go to Toys R Us and buy whatever was in stock. Then today-Craigslist had a TON of posting of little kids outdoors toys! Jackpot. Before the day was through, Brooke was sitting pretty on her new slide. She almost forgot about those rich Kaller kids is O'Fallon with their fancy swingset.

Check out the senior pic/1984 pose she is sporting. Rock star.

Only a few tumbles were had and fun was all over the Fleming backyard. This excitment may only last a few more days, but that is totally cool-it was only $30. Now I am on the look out for a swing to hang off one of our trees, a Cozy Coupe and a picnic table. This summer is going to be Christmas every day for Brooke...wait until she is older and finds out her mom bought all of her toys off Craigslist...the shame...:)

St. Pat's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day! How many adult men did you see wearing kilts today? Brooke and I saw only one (how disappointing!). While driving around town today we saw a man in a kilt with a green hat attempting to have passerby apply to live in an apartment complex. Seriously-who thought of that advertising technique?? Do the owners think that I will make a sharp turn and rent there? By the looks of it their social life must be amazing! (Side note: If you have ever looked into renting an apartment, why do they always talk about their "social life" there? Do a lot of people rent apartments in the hope of meeting the love of their life or their new best friend?? I find it so odd....). I hope that we see the Easter Bunny there next month :)

We also wore no green today. In fact, Brooke wore orange. When we stopped by my work, my co-workers were shocked that I had not purchased some green attire for Brooke and that I would put her in orange on St. Pats! Apparently that is the worst color to wear today. Apparently some people started to wear orange on St. Patrick's to demonstrate their defiance (Google it). I hoped we don't get jumped at Target or something...maybe we will stay home for the remainder of the day.

Birthday PARTY!!

Brooke was invited to my cousins Wade & Lisa's daughter's 2nd birthday party. We just call her Brooke's cousin, though and we LOVE her!!! Brooke was so pumped and wanted to wear one of her new dresses. Luckily it warmed up and was a gorgeous day. We had such a good time and Brooke would appreciate it if Gary and I let her live at their amazing house.

The Waldman boys arrived-minus Jeff. We missed our Lynn too!!! Brooke called the boys before we went to the party so that they would all match in different hues of orange. It totally works doesn't it?? Go Greyhounds!

No-your eyes are not deceiving you. They actually have pre-historic dinosaurs at their house-no joke. His name is Chewy and Brooke got to ride him, feed him and pet him. She loved him and asked Grandma if she would buy her one for Easter. Of course Grandma said yes-she will buy three of them for all of her grandchildren-why not??!!! Right G-Ma??

Loving the dino-They also had an amazing anamatronic horse upstairs-I told Brooke that would be a great God Mother gift.

YEAH B-DAY GIRL!!! I cannot believe that L is 2! She got a new bike from one of her cousins that Brooke totally was eyeing. Brooke pushed L around on the bike in the kitchen and it was adorable-they will be BFF's along with Lily for sure.

Weather is supposed to be FAB this week so expect many party pics from outside.

ramblings....

Brooke went to the dentist for the first time today. I know it may seem really early, but she has this bizarre tooth in her mouth that I was a little concerned about. The tooth coming in directly to the right of her front tooth is split in two pieces. It is not split all the way to the gum, but enough that I noticed and was wondering what was going on. The dentist was SO nice and I highly recommend their office (314-965-7630-in Kirkwood). Apparently it is not too uncommon and we just have to wait until she is older to see what happens. The permanent could come in normal, or their may not be a permanent tooth at all!!! The other possibilty is that two teeth come in. If that is the case, we will make her join the circus to bring in some additional money. The odds on it will be normal. They did let me know that I could have it filled when she is older for her school pictures...Not that I asked....

In other news..we are obsessed with babies and saying 'babies.' Brooke is also becoming a HUGE fan of shaking her head no to me-I am sure that will not last long. She is also a dancing fool and I may have to move the outomen to the basement as she likes to stand on it while dancing (visions on the next 18 years..). She is expecially fond of Justin Timberlake and Coldplay-she is diverse. Don't discount The Wiggles, though-they are still a top 5.

New BFF's. This has been a new 'thing.' Brooke likes to pet her dog. Bella is a little weirded out, but I think that she will come around.

Spring Weather!!

The weather this weekend (up until the windstorm yesterday) was SO nice! We couldn't help but get out of the house and enjoy! Friday, I left work early and met Gary and Brooke to go to the zoo-crazy right?? It was one of the very first nice days and we wanted to go to the zoo like everyone else in St. Louis. We must have gotten there at a really great time because parking and the crowds were not too bad. We got to see maybe 1/2 of the zoo before Brooke was spent, but it was fun to all go together.

Don't worry, we didn't get too close to the elephants...not with all those diseases running around..

She's a...slave...for you...

Brooke decided to get into Bella's toys this morning. For some reason, there is one in particular that she is a huge fan of. I'm sorry, but I couldn't help laughing when the first image that popped into my head was from the MTV Video Awards circa 2001. What do you think??

Yea, I agree-Brooke looks the best. I guess I know what we are going to be for Halloween :)

Getting Better

I feel like we have been hit hard this season. We have all three battled colds and the flu and this past week/weekend two of us got strep throat. Seriously. Who get's strep throat when you are not in high school and at least then (if your me) it is more dramatic and is mono. I think that when I was in high school I actually thought that it was pretty cool when I had mono. I don't know why...was it because I got to take tests at home or because I thought I maybe I would loose a few pounds.......but I digress. I got the dreaded virus last Wednesday and Gary followed by Friday night. I started feeling like myself again by Saturday, Gary was still on the mend as of this evening. Brooke (and I am currently knocking on solid, solid wood) has been an All Star and has maintained her health. I almost wish the doctor would just give her the meds as a precaution! After all, my sister, nephew, niece and mother all had strep too!! **we do things well as a family** So, this weekend was a wash and Gary and I actually had plans (with a babysitter) to do a Trivia Night with friends. I am sure they did well without us, but we were looking forward to the night. There is always next time...

By the way-has anyone out there ever watched The Wiggles?? Brooke watched the Netflix (which we are getting free through Gary's XBOX Live...for a limited time-so economic chic) video this weekend (on Nursey Rhymes) and was dancing and bobbing her head like a mad woman!! Then Tracie told me that they sing a song about fruit salad. What??? This I am going to have to hear! I can just see Gary and me exchaning our John Mayer or Coldplay concert tickets in for The Wiggles and/or WonderPets Live on Ice! Those also make for fabulous God Parent activities...
